Dirt racing is as grassroots as racing can be. Racing on dirt will teach you throttle control, how to drive a loose go kart, and how to control your emotions because tempers will flare up at these races.

E3 Speedway – Grass Roots Go Karting Joplin
Another great go kart location near Joplin is E3 Speedway. This is another small family racing operation. Featuring a small bull ring style track that is super exciting to watch.
Is dirt racing right for you?
Dirt go kart racing is one of the purest forms of motorsports in my opinion. Racing on dirt will challenge you in many ways. The track is slick, bumpy and the drivers are tough.
E3 Speedway is located about an hour straight East of Joplin. Joplin is a little scarce on tracks, so an hour drive is not too bad. Growing up we would drive over an hour and a half just to get to our local track!
If you want to start, go kart racing, check out E3 Speedway. Even if you just go watch you will already be making a step in the right direction of becoming a race car driver.
Talk to some of the racers there. Ask questions like, how did you get into go kart racing?
This will help you build relationships with people at the track. Racers love to talk. Maybe not talk about their speed secrets but they do like to talk. Ask them if you can help out one day. This is a great way to start learning about how racing go karts work.
Either way, if you are looking to race or just watch E3 Speedway is a fantastic track to visit!

Lokomotion Family Fun Park – Go Karts Near Joplin
Joplin is not a hot spot for go karts. We had to go to Arkansas to find the closest family fun go kart park!
This place is only about an hour South of Joplin. A little bit of a drive for a high reward. At Lokomotion Family Fun you can have all kinds of fun. From the go karts to the bumper boats there is so much to do!
The go karts are outdoor gas powered go karts. They are geared towards families so they are not the super high-speed go karts you may find at a place like K1 Speed. Nonetheless they are super fun and will not disappoint.
If the go karts are all used up and you are looking for more fun, there is so much more. You can play in the Arcade or if the weather is nice, you can cool off with the Bumper Boats! The 18-Hole Mini Golf course will test your skills or go on the attack at the Lazer Tag arena!

Exeter Corn Maze – Go Karts
For a fun Fall day you can visit Exeter Corn Maze. Unfortunately, they are only open a couple months of the year from September to November.
While they are open though you will be able to race go karts on a big track and small track. One is a road course style and the other is a small oval for the kiddos.
Even better is that they allow for passengers to ride along so no one is left behind! I love that a Corn Maze has embraced outdoor go karting. It shows how much go karting truly is a family sport.
