Requirements to Race
- Junior Go Karts on the Pepsi Track – Under 13 years old and between 48″ – 56″ Tall
- Adult Go Karts on the Pepsi Track – 13 Years and older and must be taller than 56″
- Adult Go Karts on the Rockstar Track – Must be 16 years and older and must be 56″ or taller
- Closed Toed shoes are required for all ages and tracks
- Avoid loose and baggy clothing
- Be sure to tie up long hair

The best place to race go karts in Colorado Springs has got to be Overdrive Raceway! With multiple different go karts on multiple different go kart tracks you will be sure to have fun.
The high speed and intense power of indoor electric go karts will really impress you, especially if you have never raced indoor go karts before. The torque that is produced by the electric motors is so impressive that you won’t want to race any other kind of go kart.
These go karts will push speeds of 45+ MPH!
What I love about Overdrive is that they have go karts for juniors and adults. Children under 13 years old and between 48″ – 56″ can race the junior karts.
The multiple tracks give people a challenge as well. One is slick while the other is really high on grip. I would prefer the high grip track as it is faster and more challenging to keep your speed and momentum up.
The slick track is good for teaching kart control. Learning how to deal with an oversteer condition is a very useful skill in go kart racing.
The high grip track will teach you how to avoid understeer conditions. Understeer is a tight condition, or as we called it a push. This causes the go kart to be very slow and will frustrate you to no end!
Overdrive Raceway Amenities
Overdrive is great for Birthday parties, work parties, family gatherings or any type of get together. You can contact one of their event coordinators to set up your next event.

Most motorsports enthusiasts have heard of Pikes Peak. The 14,115-incline hill climb is the most prestigious hill climb in the world!
People from all over the world come to conquer the treacherous corners and high demand of the mountain.
What makes it so challenging?
In my opinion it is the elevation change. An internal combustion engine requires a few necessities to survive. Just like a human it needs air and water (fuel) to survive. And just like humans, as you go high in the sky the amount of oxygen is quite less. The engines need to change the air fuel ratio quickly to match the environment of the mountain. Pretty cool stuff!
PPIR – Go Kart Racing Series in Colorado Springs
While you will not race a go kart up Pikes Peak you can race a go kart at PPIR. The racetrack offers all kinds of motorsports. Everything from drag racing to USAC Silver Crown to go karting.
The Colorado Karting Tour or CKT races here as a stop on their tour. The track is beautifully laid out inside the PPIR speedway. The speedway hosts large races such as the NASCAR West Series so everything is there to support the kart racers.
Growing up racing in the WKA Gold Cup series we would race inside tracks like Charlotte Motor Speedway and Daytona Super Speedway. These were the best because you knew everything you needed such as power, parking, waste disposal, oil disposal and supplies were readily available
